Lapdog Brewery

Hobby Brewmaster

As a hobby home brewer, there’s something deeply rewarding about crafting your own beer from scratch—experimenting with bold flavors, tweaking hop levels, and dialing in the perfect fermentation. It’s not just about the drink; it’s about the process. Whether you’re inventing new beer recipes that push boundaries or building custom brewing equipment to suit your unique setup, home brewing is where creativity meets craft. It’s a hands-on passion that combines science, taste, and a bit of engineering—perfect for anyone who loves to invent both what they brew and how they brew it.

Recipes and Projects

Step into the world of all-grain brewing, where craft and creativity come together in every batch. Unlike extract brewing, all-grain lets you start from the raw ingredients—malted grains, hops, water, and yeast—giving you full control over flavor, body, and style. Alongside your custom recipes, building and using your own homegrown brewing equipment—like mash tuns, wort chillers, and keg systems—adds a hands-on, DIY spirit to the process. It’s brewing from the ground up, both in the glass and in the garage.

Testimonials of recipes

I had the chance to sample a light ale from Lapdog Brewery at a recent picnic, and it was a standout. Though on the lighter side, it had a surprisingly full body that gave it great presence without being heavy. The real highlight was the bright citrus notes—crisp, slightly zesty, and super refreshing on a warm day. Perfect picnic beer. I’d absolutely go back for another.

Tried a Hefeweizen at the Wing Walk Poker Run, and it hit all the right notes. Smooth, slightly hazy, with those classic banana and clove vibes you want in a wheat beer. Paired perfectly with the crispy, flavorful wings they were serving up—seriously, some of the best I’ve had in a while. Between the cold beer, great food, and laid-back crowd, the whole event was just good times all around. Would definitely do it again (and maybe even win a hand or two next time).

Now this was something special. Homebrewed beer on draft, served from a rolling tap system hitched to the back of a tractor and cruised around the neighborhood—honestly, it doesn’t get cooler than that. There’s something about sipping a cold, freshly poured pint right from the tap while standing in your front yard that just hits different. The beer itself was solid—crisp, clean, clearly brewed with care—but the whole experience stole the show. Small-town ingenuity meets summer fun. Total legend move.
